Dr. Myles Baker

Dr. Myles Baker

CEO & Chief Engineer

Dr. Baker is the founder, president, and chief engineer of M4 Engineering, Inc. He is an experienced technical and management professional, working on many of the most challenging design and optimization problems and founding two energy-related companies. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Dr. Baker previously worked for Boeing Phantom Works, where he was responsible for managing a group of 20 engineers in the Structures Technology Division.

Dr. Baker has a broad technical background including aerospace vehicle design and multidisciplinary modeling including design, analysis, and fabrication of composite structures, CFD and thermal analysis, propulsion system and trajectory analysis and optimization, aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic model development, and structural mechanics.

Dr. Baker has been a member of the Aerospace Flutter and Dynamics Council, ASME, VFS, and SAMPE, and is an associate fellow of the AIAA. He is recipient of AIAA's 2003 Lawrence Sperry award for outstanding young professional with exceptional contributions to the aerospace profession. He holds several patents in the area of novel composite structures for wind turbine blades.

Dr. Baker holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all from UCLA.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Dr. Baker enjoys travelling with his family, live music, and bad movies. M4 is named after the four Baker family members: Myles, Maureen, Mitchell, and Manderlee.
Dr. Kevin Roughen

Dr. Kevin Roughen

Vice President, Engineering

Dr. Kevin Roughen has extensive experience in structural analysis of metallic and composite structures, aeroelasticity, and design optimization. Dr. Roughen has served as principal investigator for over a dozen sponsored research and development programs by the federal government as well as providing structural analysis support for several commercial and military programs, including Boeing 767 tanker, Boeing 747-8, and Northrop Grumman X47-B.

Dr. Roughen was the lead engineer at M4 in weight reduction studies for the Boeing 787 composite passenger door under subcontract from Latecoere. He performed aeroservoelastic model generation, test correlation, and control law design for the NASA Supersonic Semispan Transport (S4T) project.

Previously, Dr. Roughen worked for seven years at the Phantom Works organization of the Boeing Company where he led structural analysis, loads, and optimization tasks for two flight research vehicles designed to investigate the flight mechanics of the Blended Wing-Body.

Dr. Roughen holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all from UCLA. He received UCLA's award for Outstanding Bachelor of Science Degree Recipient.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and learning new things. He also teaches at UCLA occasionally.
Tyler Winter

Tyler Winter

Director of Program Management

Tyler Winter provides technical and programmatic leadership for all ongoing projects at M4. Since joining the company in 2008, he has secured multiple high-profile government research contracts, including key programs for NASA and the Department of Defense.

As a senior member of M4's engineering team, Tyler has played a central role in recruiting exceptional talent, implementing effective knowledge transfer practices, and building a world-class technical organization. His technical contributions span scientific computing, aerostructural analysis and optimization, uncertainty quantification, software development, and the creation of advanced multidisciplinary analysis and optimization (MDAO) frameworks.

Prior to M4, Tyler conducted award-winning independent research in applied computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and second-law analysis of aerospace vehicles. In 2006, he was selected for the highly competitive engineering research program at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Tyler holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he was awarded the university's most prestigious graduate honor, the Chancellor's Fellowship.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, hiking in National Parks, and roasting specialty coffee.
Mike Voll

Mike Voll

Director of Sales

Mike Voll leads sales and business development at M4 Engineering, working with manufacturers, OEMs, and product development teams to align M4's engineering capabilities with their programs.

He brings more than twenty-five years of experience selling engineering technology, software, and services to industrial clients. Prior to joining M4 in 2023, Mike spent over twenty years at TriMech, an engineering technology and services company, in operations, account management, and sales leadership roles. Earlier in his career, he was President and Managing Partner of 3D Innovations, an engineering software reseller.

Mike holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Kansas.

Fun Fact: Outside of work, Mike is an automotive enthusiast, an avid tennis fan and player, and loves the outdoors. He's based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brent Scheneman

Brent Scheneman

Design, Manufacturing & Test Manager

Brent Scheneman is the Design, Manufacturing, and Test Manager at M4 Engineering and has been with the company for over ten years. Brent studied Computer Engineering at Cal State University Long Beach.

Brent has steadily taken on larger projects, which recently culminated in being the project manager for the JetZero scaled technology demonstrator named Pathfinder. His responsibility for overseeing the airframe design and fabrication team was his first major multi-year project for M4 with JetZero, resulting in a flying aircraft through a massive collaborative effort.

When Brent thinks about his favorite reason for working at M4, he highlights feeling privileged to be working beside some of the smartest people he's met in aerospace. Each day offers a new challenge to overcome.

Fun Fact: Brent's hobbies include flying RC drones, hiking, photography, and traveling with an emphasis on exploring local restaurants and cocktail bars. His advice for new engineers: "stay curious and keep learning."
Vitaliy Rezekulov

Vitaliy Rezekulov

Technical Branch Manager, MN Office

Vitaliy Rezekulov is the Technical Branch Manager of M4's Minnesota office and has been with the company for over 12 years. His responsibilities include structural and thermal analysis, leading engineering teams, and managing M4's Technical Sales team, helping connect companies to design, simulation, and optimization software solutions. He played an integral role in starting and growing M4's engineering software business.

Originally from the historic city of Lviv, Ukraine, Vitaliy attended the University of Minnesota for Mechanical Engineering. He was drawn to the field because of its broadness, as he enjoys learning about the many different domains of engineering.

Over his career at M4, Vitaliy has worked across a wide range of programs including rocket engine injectors, hydraulic actuators, cryogenic vent relief valves, drones, and airships. One of his favorite assignments was leading a team of engineers at a launch vehicle startup company.

Fun Fact: Vitaliy enjoys playing sports (soccer and hockey), listening to Coldplay, watching movies, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
