M4 Engineering is a high technology engineering company with offices in Long Beach, CA; Maricopa, AZ; and Shakopee, MN. We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic individual to join the engineering team onsite in Shakopee, Minnesota, working alongside the engineers who perform research and analysis for Department of Defense, NASA, and commercial clients. Paid internships are available in structural analysis, optimization, and engineering software development.
Structural Analysis and Optimization
- Structural analysis for aircraft components through the stages of the design process
- Structural sizing and optimization
- Material and concept trade studies
- Structural dynamics, including modal and forced response
- Detailed analysis and documentation of structural integrity for test support and certification
- Analysis using industry standard FEA codes (Abaqus, ANSYS, Simcenter 3D, FEMAP), and conventional hand calculations
- Presentation of results to both internal and external customers
Methods and Software Development
- Develop methods and software tools for multidisciplinary analysis and optimization
- Engineering software development
Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizen or permanent resident only
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Programming experience in Python, FORTRAN, C/C++, and/or MATLAB is a plus
- Year-round internship, available full-time or part-time
